Wedding Bells

This past weekend we attended James' youngest brother's wedding and a good time was had by all! Congratulations Jeremy and Julie!!
Here are some of my favorite shots from the big day! Well, just the reception really. Since James was a groomsman, I was on my own during the ceremony and I had my hands too full handling my two "flower kids" (as Joshua refers to himself and Lydia) once they got down the aisle to take any shots during the actual ceremony as it was a long one, and not much is more boring to lively 2 and 4 year olds during the middle of nap time than a marriage ceremony Especially since their understanding of why they needed to be quiet and calm was non-existent. A big thanks to my sister-in-law, Laura, for her help keeping the mayhem at bay in our pew for the whole service, and to my parents for rescuing the kids when they ran out of steam and needed their beds badly, long before the reception was done!
Enjoy!
Dancing with the beautiful bride! Lydia was actually quite miffed when Julie had to put her down to dance with her new hubby and greet the rest of the guests. :)
Oh my, this picture cracks me up every time!
This is probably my favorite from the whole day. So sweet!

Our little family, all dressed up!

No place a tired little girl would rather be than with her daddy! I love this one too. :)

If you can't fix it...

Take a picture of it...

Three washes later with every internet-color-removal-trick I can find and the color just won't budge!
Anyone care to take a guess as to what color these were BEFORE they went into the washer?

So Happy Together...

Oh how much easier my job would be if they were always like this! nonetheless it still brings a smile to my heart when they do have these moments. :)

Lincoln Log Abraham

Joshua loves coins: big coins, small coins, foreign coins, old coins and new coins. He loves collecting them, giving them away, finding them, sorting them, trading them, and trying to find extra chores he can do to get more.

His current fascination is with the "Life of Lincoln" series of pennies. (Mostly because they're really shiny!)
I honestly don't remember having a conversation with him about the scenes depicted on the back, but either I've forgotten or someone else must have done so because he seems to get what's going on.

Tonight he told me that his favorite coin is 'Lincoln-Log Abraham Learns to Read'. Yep you read that right, "Lincoln-Log Abraham"! Puts a whole new take on history, huh? That little man cracks me up!

Kid Pics...

A few shots from our recent trip back to Hastings. The kids LOVED hanging out with their cousin, Liam, and some of the pics are just too cute. Although, it is nearly impossible to get three little kids all looking pleasantly at one person at one time. And, when all three of the photo subjects are mobile and in love with cameras some funny antics ensue!
Somehow the camera didn't come out until the last couple of days, so missing are pics from the GR children's museum and dinner with my college roomate "Aunt" Cathy, and playdate with Paula (including a really sweet hug between Joshua and her little girl, Ella...too cute!). I also got to sneak out early one morning sans-kids and have a coffee-date with college/blogger friend, Liz and hear about her family's upcoming adventures!
So refreshing to catch up with old friends!!! :)
